Christopher Biggins: Adaptive sports help break down barriers for people with disabilities

“From the outside, people see someone with a disability and they’re like, ‘Oh, what can we do to help you?’ Where my brothers knew – yeah – there was a time to do that but it was like 1 percent of the time. The other 99 was ‘Let’s push him. Let’s treat him like a normal person’ – which is exactly how I wanted to be treated. I mean, I wanted to be good at sports period. Not just good at sports for someone with a disability.”

Golf pro Christopher Biggins and United Ability Occupational Therapist Kimberly Garnett join lead anchor Alex Bimes to talk about Christopher’s journey to United Ability, the benefits of physical activity, the importance of adaptive sports, and the Journey of Hope fundraiser.
