National Disability Employment Awareness Month

NDEAM raises awareness about, honors accomplishments of workers with disabilities

“From my experience, the individuals that come through our program, they want to work, and they want to join the workforce. And I feel like for so long they’ve been told “no” they know they have so much more to overcome, and they go in giving it their all, and a lot of times they do run circles around their peers.”

Katie Dumais, director of Employment Services for United Ability, sits down with AC lead anchor Alex Bimes to discuss National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Celebrated in October each year, NDEAM recognizes the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities past and present and showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices.
