APRIL provides leadership, resources on rural independent living for people with disabilities

“(APRIL) was a part of … as they’re coming out with some of the new transportation dollars … how they’re going to spend that. … We were able to come to that table and talk about how important rural areas are and to not forget us.”

Dan Kessler, interim executive director of the Association of Programs for Rural Independent Living (APRIL), and Mary Willard, APRIL director of training and technical assistance, join Alabama Care to talk about their organization’s history, mission, and work as well as current national trends related to rural independent living.
