CSAVR ‘tells the story’ of the public vocational rehabilitation program

“Individually to be able to tell your story – that’s what really speaks to those who are in positions and making decisions of legislative significance. ‘How does the public vocational rehabilitation enable my son or my daughter or me as an individual with a disability to engage in the workplace? And what is it that is needed in order to be able to sustain my place in the workplace, or what is it that I need or my family member needs to be able to progress in a career?’ It’s really telling that story and then backing that up with good solid evidence.”

Steve Wooderson, chief executive officer of the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR), talks with Alabama Care lead anchor Alex Bimes about CSAVR’s history, mission, and work and offers the AC community some tips on effective advocacy.
